The main objective of the project is to develop a new class of zirconia-based solid solution materials (ZrO2 with Al3+) in a wide range of compositions. We will investigate whether the nanotechnology route, where formation of solid solution takes place during synthesis of nanoparticles influences low mutual solubility ZrO2-Al2O3 at temperatures lower than 1130°C. Project for searching the method of hydroxyapatite application in constraction of scaffolds for regenerative medicine. Hydroxyapatite should have healing abilities, be bioactive and resorbable, in our laboratory we have patented method of producing that very special nano-hydroxyapatite.
Project for continuation of applications of different compositions of polimers with nano-hydroxyapatite in regenerative medicine. Two types of bone implants were tested in cooperation with private company CHM and RigaTtechnical University.
